Why do I have to use a #keyword in my posts to the Uplift Prayer app?
Posts in the Uplift Prayer app are organized around #keywords (noted by hashtags). Uplift Prayer #keywords are a powerful tool in
connecting people with like interests and identifying common topics, thoughts, or expressions. The #keywords also let people who have
common prayer needs/interests easily find and interact with one another. Check out our training video called
Using Keywords In Uplift for more information on #keywords.
How do I select #keywords for my post?
When you select #keywords for a prayer you post, it might be helpful to think through some simple questions:
- Who are you praying for? For example, #family, #pastor, #smallgroup, etc.
- What situation are you praying for? For example, #sickness, #addiction, #travel, #finances, etc.
- What are you asking to be done? For example, #healing, #safety, #breakthrough, etc.
The goal is to clearly define your request in a way that helps others be drawn to interact with you and your request. When you use #keywords to answer these questions,
others can quickly and easily understand your post.
The Uplift Prayer app offers an extensive list of stored #keywords. If a #keyword you want to include isn't yet stored in our database, you may use a new #keyword for
your post. Any new #keyword is reviewed by our team for addition to our database.
If possible we recommend the use of existing #keywords. This allows other users to more easily find your post, pray for your request and connect you with
others with similar prayer concerns. Check out our training video called
Using Keywords In Uplift for more information on #keywords.
How do I learn more about a particular prayer post?
Uplift Prayer displays "prayer card" lists, which show a brief summary of each post. Click on any prayer card to see more details, such as

What are Groups?
Groups are prayer lists where participation is available only to group members. In the Uplift Prayer app, there are two types of groups:
(1) "Open Groups", which are created by Uplift Prayer for larger, God-honoring organizations like churches, teams, companies, and charities, and (2) "Personal
Groups", which can be created by any Uplift Prayer user. Personal Groups are great for small groups, family, friends, staff, etc. Some of the group key attributes are
summarized below:
- Open Group: created by Uplift Prayer, any Uplift Prayer user may join and become a member, group names are listed publicly and are searchable within the app,
participation is limited to group members.* Check out our training video called Open Groups & How To Join Them
for more information about Open Groups.
- Personal Group: created by any Uplift Prayer user (i.e. leader), the Personal Group leader must invite app users to join the group,
group names are not listed publicly nor searchable within the app, participation is limited to group members.* Check out our training video called
Personal Groups & How To Create Them for more information about Personal Groups.
* Please note, while participation in groups is limited to group members, it is possible for anyone to see the information you share on
Uplift Prayer. For example, a group member might share your post or other information outside of a group or outside of Uplift Prayer. Please be mindful of what you choose to share
on Uplift Prayer. To learn more, please review our
